Buchanan Estates has appointed WalkersXchange Estate Agents to market its prestigious new housing development, ‘Southfields’ at Acklington, Northumberland situated on the B6345 near Morpeth.
Buchanan is building 16 bespoke houses at the site in the heart of the village. The development includes two-bedroom bungalows, three-bedroom semis, four-bedroom semis and four and five-bedroom detached homes.
William Davies, director of Buchanan commented: “We are delighted to be working with WalkersXchange who have an excellent track record for promoting homes and residential developments throughout Northumberland and Tyneside, and we are looking forward to working with them at Southfields.
“Continuing the “best of local” theme for this scheme we have appointed Surgo Construction Ltd from Newcastle, a long-established local building company with an enviable reputation and a great track record for delivering a first-class product as a building contractor”
Julie Walker, head of sales at WalkersXchange, said: “The housing market in Northumberland is incredible at the moment. There is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever. I cannot list new properties quickly enough, in fact new property coming to the market is going under offer within two to three days, if not sooner!
“I think many people, especially the over 50s, are making life-changing decisions because of the pandemic and many want to get out of towns and cities to benefit from more space, less congestion and room to breathe some fresher air. That is particularly the case for those living in the south.
“It is very much a vendor’s market with many agents reporting that existing property is often selling for more than the asking price, and although with new build the price is fixed, I would still recommend anyone thinking of moving home to act quickly, because demand is outstripping supply in this part of the world at the present time.”
William Davies explained: “We have chosen the location of Southfields extremely carefully. We understand what people want after the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and our development offers the best of rural living with all local amenities close by and is well located for accessing local centres and main roads such as the A1M and the A1068.
“Acklington also has a mainline railway station and frequent bus services to Alnwick, Berwick and Newcastle, so is the perfect spot for any new families, retirees or those returning the area.”
WalkersXchange was established by Julie Walker almost four years ago. She has always worked in the new build sector, formerly as part of the management team in her previous roles and today, she assists various housing developers on site and with their sales.
Speaking of her appointment to Southfields, Acklington, she said: “I was recommended to the developer, Buchanan Estates, by Surgo Construction, who are working on a site nearby where I am also the marketing agent, and where only four homes remain, so we have an established relationship, which is really useful.
“I have every confidence that these houses will sell quickly as they are sensibly priced to appeal to a wide range of buyers – starting at £200,000 for a two-bed bungalow and climbing to £470,000 for the five-bed detached with a variety of options in between.
“To find out more about Southfields I would advise not to delay as these properties are already proving to be extremely popular!”
The development will be fully completed in the summer of 2022 and all houses are available now to buy off plan.
